The Start of my Journey

The Start of my Journey
Lenovo ThinkCentre M83 Tiny i5-4590T 8GB 128GB SSD WIFI

I'm trying to learn more out in the open. I've always loved to learn but most of time it is something I do in the shadows. But now that I'm trying to land in a new position after being laid off this year it makes more sense to document more of my self learning.

The first step in this process is to start my home lab. I have a thing for Lenovo Thinkpads, I'm actually writing this very post on my T490 with Pop OS on it of course. I used to work in a NOC so I wasn't exactly excited to try and run enterprise hardware in my residence. So I got drawn to the idea of picking up a tiny PC like the ThinkCentre Tiny models. So after lurking Ebay I was able to score one for about $80.

For my needs, which will be running Docker and generally just messing around with stuff that interests me. This little guy will be prefect. The first thing I did was install Debian on it then got Docker and Portainer installed. Then I deployed this blog. Right now its only available locally on my network. So the next step is to make it public.
